The San Marco Tower in Gardone Riviera, a historic venue for night events and celebrations, is at the center of a controversy that could mark the end of its activities. With the management contract set to expire on September 30, the venue, managed by Max Tosetti for the past 28 years, will be rented to a new owner who intends to halt the dance nights and celebrations. There are concerns that the nearby villa owner wants to eliminate disturbances related to the music and noise coming from the nightclub, which can accommodate up to 1,500 people.
Mayor Adelio Zeni has confirmed the impending transaction, while Tosetti expresses regret not only for his personal loss but also for the approximately 40 employees at the venue and the hundred workers involved in the surrounding economy. In response to the situation, Pietro Roberti has initiated a petition on Change.org in an effort to safeguard this important gathering place for night events by the lake. The San Marco Tower, built in the early 1900s and transformed by Gabriele D’Annunzio into an extension of the Vittoriale, now risks permanently closing its doors to summer entertainment.
