Garda Uno has recorded a significant increase in female operators, with an addition of 11 new hires in 2024. This development is part of a positive trend that sees a slow but steady growth in the presence of women in a sector traditionally dominated by men, such as urban hygiene and waste collection. Currently, out of a total of 221 employees, women make up 19%, with 42 individuals employed. In 2023, there were only 4 female environmental operators, while in 2021, there were just 2.
The work-life balance policies adopted by Garda Uno seem to support this trend, along with the introduction of technological tools that assist the daily activities of female workers. Furthermore, the number of women employed in the offices has increased from 27 in 2022 to 31 in 2023, highlighting the company’s commitment to promoting female employment even in specialized areas. These figures were reported in the company’s latest sustainability report, confirming the intention to continue on this path to ensure professional opportunities for women in the Lake Garda region.
