The 23rd Brescia Art Marathon, held on Sunday, March 9, saw the participation of approximately 6000 runners in the heart of the city. The competition began at 8:30 AM from Piazza Loggia, with favorable weather conditions accompanying the athletes along the traditional distances of 42.195 km for the marathon, 21.095 km for the half marathon, and 10 km for the BCC Brescia 10k. Among the participants, Walter Bassi, a marathon runner who passed away last year, was remembered; the 2025 edition will be dedicated to him. Brescia’s mayor, Laura Castelletti, emphasized the social importance of the event and the growing enthusiasm of the citizens.
Among the winners, Davide Angilella (Vanotti Running Team) stood out, claiming victory in the marathon with a time of 2:27’14”, while Claudia Andrighettoni (U.S. Quercia DAO Conad) triumphed in the women’s category with 2:51’20”. In the half marathon, Nicola Duchi (Atletica Alto Garda e Ledro) finished first with 1:08’02”, and Sara Bottarelli (Freezone) followed closely with 1:14’09”. In the BCC Brescia 10k, Francesco Alliegro repeated his success from last year, finishing in 31’06”, while Aurora Bado won among women with a time of 35’18”. The event also featured recreational activities such as the Sportland Easy Run 10k and the Family Walking, further engaging the local community.
