The Lombardy Region has announced a funding allocation of 2.5 million euros to enhance local police forces, with the aim of improving safety in the area. This investment, which addresses 99 requests from municipalities, unions of municipalities, and provinces, is intended for the purchase of equipment and vehicles such as eco-friendly cars, drones, body cameras, and other technological tools necessary for responding to emergencies more effectively. Among the recipients of the funds is the Metropolitan City of Milan, which will receive a significant share.
The regional assessor for Security and Civil Protection, Romano La Russa, emphasized the importance of safety as a priority for the Region. Since 2022, nearly 11 million euros have been allocated to equip officers with the necessary tools to perform their duties efficiently. The funds will be distributed to various provinces in Lombardy, thereby contributing to the renewal of the vehicle fleet of law enforcement agencies and enhancing their operational capabilities in the field.
