Objective: Enhance security in anticipation of the tourist season on Lake Garda. Recently, a meeting of the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Safety was held in Desenzano del Garda, chaired by Prefect Andrea Polichetti. The event was attended by several mayors from the lakeside municipalities in Brescia, along with local police commanders, the Chief of Police of Brescia, and commanders of the law enforcement agencies. During the meeting, issues related to tourist safety were addressed, with particular emphasis on strengthening local police forces and implementing surveillance systems.
The Prefect highlighted a decrease in the crime rate compared to the previous year, but stressed the importance of cooperation among institutions to swiftly resolve existing issues. Additionally, specific challenges related to the use of the lake in light of the upcoming summer season were discussed. The Prefect concluded by stating that Lake Garda represents a unique cultural heritage that requires concrete measures to ensure the safety of both residents and tourists.
