A question arises in Salò, where councilor Giovanni Ciato has expressed concerns regarding the new housing for the elderly and vulnerable. The project, which aims to create 14 protected mini-apartments at the former Eca building between Via Gasparo and Via Trieste, remains stalled despite a planned investment of over 3 million euros and years of planning. Initially approved in October 2021 through a collaboration between the RSA “Residenza degli Ulivi” Foundation and Pavoni Spa of Vobarno, the plan seeks to enhance the social housing offer in the city.
Ciato has formally requested clarification from Mayor Francesco Cagnini on the current status of the project, emphasizing that more than three years have passed since its approval without any construction work commencing. Three main points have been highlighted: the progress of the procedure with the Fondazione Città di Salò, the Administration’s intentions regarding the enhancement or possible sale of the property, and the utilization of the 600,000 euros already obtained from the Internal Areas Fund of the Mountain Community, funds that risk being lost if not used promptly.
