The Strada della Forra in Tremosine will not reopen for Easter due to concerning signs of ground instability. The Province of Brescia has announced that, although safety measures were completed following the landslide on December 16, 2023, recent monitoring has revealed a constant and alarming movement of the rock, with a deformation of 9 mm recorded in the past three weeks. President Emanuele Moraschini and Provincial Councillor Paolo Fontana emphasized the importance of public safety, stressing that the priority remains to ensure the protection of individuals.
The 24/7 active monitoring system, consisting of extensometers and automatic sensors, will continue to provide updated data on the situation. Mayor Battista Girardi also expressed regret for the inconveniences caused by the closure but asserted that a responsible decision based on reliable technical data is necessary. The provincial administration remains committed to engaging with the local community for future updates on the status of the road.
