The Arco Sailing Club has decided to embark on a true ecological transition in the world of sailing. For the 2024 season, the club has introduced electric inflatables for regattas, sailing school, and coaching activities.
The decision to switch to electric inflatables was motivated by the desire to reduce the environmental impact of motorized vehicles on Lake Garda. This will result in significant energy savings and the ability to recharge the inflatables using a photovoltaic system that will be installed at the Arco Sailing Club.
To achieve this ecological transition, the Arco Sailing Club has collaborated with VSR, the producer of the best coach-boats on the market. Together, they have studied and implemented the conversion of motorized vehicles to electric propulsion. The project also involves other companies such as ZER, specialized in vehicle electrification, EDYN, a producer of complete systems (engine, battery, and electronics), and MITEK, a producer of electric motors.
The Arco Sailing Club has identified three types of electric propulsion vehicles that are suitable for the various activities of the club. One of these vehicles has already been tested on the lake during the winter, and the first pre-production model was delivered on March 27th.
