From July 6th to November 3rd, Palazzo Callas Exhibitions in Sirmione will host a new edition of the photography exhibition related to the Sirmione Photography Award. The event, titled “A World in a Bag,” offers visitors a visual journey through the wonders of Lake Garda, captured in the shots of the competition participants.
The exhibition promises to transport visitors into a universe of water reflections, sun rays, and suggestive corners of the Garda landscape. The title itself invites the viewers to collect the natural and cultural beauties of the place, as if they were memories to always carry with them.
The exhibition takes place inside the halls of Palazzo Callas Exhibitions, where large paper bags serve as frames for the images. These containers are not only physical elements but symbols of travel and discovery, capable of evoking emotions and significant memories.
Luisa Lavelli, the mayor of Sirmione, expressed great enthusiasm for the event: “It is always exciting to see Sirmione told by tourists: the journey to discover a territory full of charm like Lake Garda holds a special place in our memory.”
The Tourism Councilor, Riccardo Genovesi, also emphasized the importance of the exhibition: “Inaugurating an exhibition that celebrates the beauties seen through the lens of tourists is the best way to start my journey. The title strongly refers to the journey and the tourist experience that allows us to fill our bag with precious memories.”
The artistic director, Mariangela Gavioli, explained that the exhibition not only celebrates the beauty of the lake but also invites reflection on environmental sustainability. The paper bags and cardboard panels used become protagonists of a visual dialogue that encourages reducing, reusing, and recycling.
“A World in a Bag is the celebration of the beauty of the lake and also a call for sustainability: the bags become gateways to past and future adventures,” said Gavioli.
