Accessible tourism is in the spotlight with the project “60 Minutes for Inclusion,” which will take place on Lake Garda. This initiative, promoted by the Consorzio Lago di Garda Lombardia in collaboration with Zero Barriere ODV and World4all, aims to transform the Lake Garda area into a model of inclusivity and accessibility. The presentation meeting of the work done so far will be held on January 31 at the Sala dei Provveditori in the Municipality of Salò, while a training course for tour operators titled “Welcoming Disability” will take place on January 15, aimed at improving the reception of individuals with specific needs.
The project also includes the development of an informational application on the accessibility of points of interest, assisting both tourists and residents in selecting suitable facilities. The involved municipalities are working to map public structures and essential services, committing to ensure that accessibility is enhanced without compromising the cultural heritage of the area. Marco Girardi, president of the Consorzio Lago di Garda Lombardia, emphasized the importance of the initiative in promoting accessibility and enhancing the territory, highlighting how this project can represent a significant step towards more inclusive tourism.
