The State Police of Padua has recently dismantled an Albanian gang responsible for over 50 burglaries in Northern Italy, particularly focusing on the regions of Veneto, Lombardy, and Emilia Romagna. The operation, which resulted in the arrest of the gang leader and the recovery of stolen goods valued at over half a million euros, began in mid-November after officers analyzed a series of burglaries that occurred in the Province of Padua. By tracking the movements of a group consisting of three Albanians specializing in predatory crimes, the Mobile Squad conducted a coordinated raid with law enforcement forces from Milan and Bergamo.
During the operation, two apartments in Milan were discovered where a 29-year-old Albanian, considered the gang leader, was found in possession of numerous stolen items and tools used for communicating with his accomplices. In a second apartment, a woman linked to one of the wanted individuals was identified, hiding part of the stolen goods. In total, the officers recovered over 150 stolen items, including jewelry and household appliances. Investigations are ongoing to identify all the victims of the burglaries and to return their stolen property.
