Over the weekend, eight driving licenses were revoked in the Alto Garda area following targeted checks aimed at combating the use of alcohol and drugs while driving. The Carabinieri of Riva, Arco, and Dro intensified their operations in nightlife areas, paying particular attention to crowded locations during events such as the “San Marcello” festival in Arco. During these checks, 55 vehicles were stopped and 71 individuals were identified; breathalyzer tests revealed that seven drivers were under the influence, resulting in the revocation of their licenses for a minimum of 90 days and fines of 543 euros each.
Additionally, a man in his forties was found to be in a state of psychophysical impairment after admitting to cocaine use, leading to an immediate three-month license suspension. Law enforcement also penalized two electric scooter riders for not wearing helmets, in accordance with the new traffic code regulations.
