From July 7th to 14th, the Civic Gallery Craffonara in Riva del Garda will host the photography exhibition titled “Anima Animalis,” curated by photographer Enrico Fuochi. The event, which includes a section dedicated to photographer Valentina Degiampietro, offers an interpretive journey into the complex relationship between humans and the animal kingdom.
The exhibition stands out for its evocative approach that explores different facets of the human-animal relationship. Through the displayed images, visitors can reflect on themes such as mutual respect, environmental pollution, animal exploitation, and cruelty inflicted upon them. Fuochi openly criticizes the trivialization of the relationship with pets, highlighting how dogs and cats are often treated as objects rather than living beings deserving of respect.
A Journey through Light and Shadow
Enrico Fuochi’s photographs are characterized by a raw and powerful vision of the wild nature. The artist aims to provoke deep reflection in visitors through images that can be strong but always consistent with his artistic interpretation. “I will consider myself satisfied if these images have induced the visitor to a moment of reflection,” Fuochi stated.
Integration with Valentina Degiampietro
Valentina Degiampietro’s works, taken from her book “Friends. Vita a più zampe” (Friends. Life on more than four legs), offer a more romantic and serene view of the animal world. The combination of the two perspectives creates a complete visual narrative that invites the public to consider the delicate balance between humans and nature.
Inaugural Event
The official inauguration will take place on Saturday, July 6th at 5:30 pm at the Civic Gallery Craffonara. The artists themselves will be present, along with the Amarcord group, which will offer a recital on the theme of animals. Among the honored guests are historian Marialuisa Crosina, Silvia Betta representing the Municipality of Riva del Garda as Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture, and Dr. Katia Malatesta from the Provincial Superintendence for Cultural Heritage and Activities.
