The long-awaited redevelopment project of the Provincial Road 25 “Cunettone-Esenta” in Lonato del Garda has received final approval from the Province of Brescia. This intervention, which represents a further step forward in the plans for infrastructure improvement in the area, was discussed in detail during a meeting between the Province and the Municipal Administration last February.
Funding and Objectives
The project, financed with 2 million euros from the Lombardy Region, aims to modernize the road section, bringing it in line with current technical standards. The planned interventions include adapting the geometric, dimensional, functional, and construction characteristics of the infrastructure according to the current regulations for road design. These works are designed to respect the specific environmental and territorial constraints of the site.
Details of the Interventions
The works on SP 25 will include several key operations:
– Adaptation of the road platform: The modifications aim to comply with the compositional and dimensional standards required for local roads of type F, both urban and extra-urban.
– Planimetric and altimetric changes: Straight sections, curves, variable radius connections, and profiles of cross-sections will be updated. Additionally, the external elevation of the curbs in curves will be improved.
– Road superstructure: The road will be reinforced to support the loads induced by traffic during its useful life.
– Safety at the Staffolo/Fossadone intersection: A roundabout will be built to optimize traffic flows, and appropriate lighting will be installed.
– Speed moderation in residential areas: Measures will be implemented to reduce vehicle speed near inhabited areas.
Comments from the Local Administration
Mayor Roberto Tardani expressed satisfaction with the Province’s commitment to improving local road infrastructure. “In February, we had already discussed the issues related to the road section in question,” Tardani said. He also thanked President Emanuele Moraschini, Councilor Paolo Fontana, and all the personnel involved in the project.
