Today, Sunday, November 24, at the lido of Padenghe sul Garda, the artistic duo Gianus inaugurated an installation titled “Stop,” coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The artwork features a balloon that, when turned, takes the shape of a heart with the word “Love” inscribed on it, creating a striking contrast between the themes of love and violence. This piece evokes the iconic work “Banana” by Maurizio Cattelan, known for its adhesive tape.
The choice of location and timing underscores the artists’ commitment to raising public awareness about such a significant issue. The installation aims to provoke deep reflection on gender-based violence, using visual symbols that encourage consideration of the nuances between love and aggression. The event attracted the attention of passersby, contributing to the dissemination of an important message within a meaningful artistic context.
