On November 15, at 11:30 AM, the exhibition “Autumn Sun. The Rediscovered Masterpiece” will open at the civic gallery “Giovanni Segantini.” This exhibition is dedicated to the painting of the same name by Giovanni Segantini, which was recently acquired by the Municipality of Arco for 3 million euros. This significant work, created in 1887, will be on public display again after more than seventy years since its last exhibition in 1954. The exhibition will run until January 26, with free admission for the entire opening day, and will subsequently be accessible from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM.
The exhibition not only celebrates the importance of the painting in Segantini’s artistic evolution but also emphasizes the historical connection between the city and the painter. The installation, curated by Niccolò D’Agati, highlights the central role of “Autumn Sun” in the artist’s pictorial research, showcasing the transition towards a new aesthetic conception characterized by a renewed use of color and light. This event marks a significant step forward in the musealization of 19th-century Italian works and enriches the local cultural heritage.
