An intense wave of bad weather has hit the towns of Bardolino, Cisano, and Calmasino, bringing heavy rains that have caused flooding, landslides, and the swelling of watercourses. Local authorities are constantly monitoring the situation to manage the criticalities.
Mayor Daniele Bertasi, together with the local police, civil protection, and firefighters, has been involved in monitoring the situation since early morning. Despite the difficulties, there have been no reports of injuries or damages.
Effects of Torrential Rains
The abundant rainfall has caused the swelling of local watercourses, causing several manhole covers to burst and flooding in some streets. Particularly critical situations have occurred in Calmasino, in the Cristo area, where a landslide required the intervention of municipal workers to clear the road and restore traffic.
Critical Areas Under Attention
Monitoring is particularly attentive in the areas of Rio Bisavola and in the streets Pozza Amara, delle Giare, and Paerno. In the latter location, a family has evacuated their home as a precautionary measure until the weather conditions improve.
Mayor’s Statements
Mayor Daniele Bertasi stated, “Throughout the day, we have been inspecting the territory, monitoring the evolution of the situation, and managing the situations as they arise.” He also reassured citizens that all areas affected by the criticalities are now under control. The attention will remain high until there is a stable improvement in weather conditions.
