Rain and wind are lashing the province of Brescia, causing disruptions and damage. According to information from meteopassione, around 50mm of rain has fallen in the last 12 hours. The hardest-hit area is Chiari, with 57.8mm of rain recorded.
The situation is also critical in the valleys, with heavy rain and strong winds. In Ponte di Legno, snow has also returned.
The bad weather has led to several interventions by the fire brigade to remove fallen branches from the roads, such as between Clusane and Iseo.
Intense rain and strong winds are also being recorded on Lake Garda. Currently, the water levels are just above 134 centimeters and the reservoir is 99.3% full. The Secretary General of the Garda Community, Pierlucio Ceresa, explains that the wave motion was expected and should subside in the afternoon. However, due to some maintenance work downstream, it is not possible to increase the outflow of water towards Mantua.
Despite the adverse conditions, no damage has been reported on the lake shores at the moment. However, the phenomenon that has caused problems in the past is a cause for concern.
Fortunately, the weather will improve significantly from tomorrow and temperatures will rise above 20 degrees Celsius. Peaks of 26-28 degrees are expected over the weekend.
