The Bagolino Carnival, one of the oldest and most significant carnival traditions in Northern Italy, is set to return to the charming village of Valle Sabbia. This year, the carnival will take place from March 2 to March 4, featuring a program rich in events that celebrate over 500 years of history. The dances of the Balarì and the melodies of the Sonadur will enliven the streets, while participants will don historical costumes passed down through generations. On Sunday, March 2, at 2:30 PM, the dances of the young dancers will commence in Piazza Marconi, followed by festivities that will engage the entire town.
Monday, March 3, will officially inaugurate the Carnival with a mass at 6:30 AM, followed by the first dance dedicated to the parish priest. The day will continue with performances until evening, while on Tuesday, March 4, the dancers will bring the final carnival dances to life starting at 8:30 AM. During these three festive days, the mascher, emblematic figures of the Bagolino carnival, will infuse the streets with a lively and playful atmosphere. This event not only represents a cultural celebration but also serves as a moment of gathering for the local community and tourists alike.
