Last Sunday marked the inaugural edition of the “Cross della Benedetta”, a youth competition that was part of the Provincial Championship of the Fidal Committee of Brescia. Despite adverse weather conditions, with rain and wind making the course heavy, Atletica Rodengo Saiano Mico, the event organizer, decided to proceed. The races began as scheduled, with the youngest competitors in the Esordienti category kicking off the event.
The competitions showcased several young athletes shining brightly: among the girls, Ginevra Spena (Atletica Carpenedolo) claimed first place with a time of 5:29, while Mattia Borghesi (Athletic Academy) triumphed among the boys with a time of 5:20. In the Cadetti category, Matteo Ronchis from U.S. Rogno won the 2 km race in 8:51. The final standings saw Atletica Rodengo Saiano Mico emerge victorious with 372 points, followed by U.S. Rogno and Atletica Rebo Gussago.
