A significant theft has struck the Carpentari Cycling Stories store in Torbole, where 26 high-value bicycles were stolen, resulting in an estimated total damage of around 156,000 euros. This incident has raised concerns among local entrepreneurs regarding urban security, with Confcommercio Alto Garda and Ledro expressing the need for greater attention to this issue. President Claudio Miorelli emphasized that such events are not isolated and call for a deep reflection on the urgency of concrete measures to ensure the safety of commercial activities.
In light of the upcoming municipal elections on May 4th, Miorelli urged candidates to include tangible proposals in their platforms aimed at improving security, such as the implementation of video surveillance and the enhancement of public lighting. He pointed out that urban security is crucial not only for commerce but also for social cohesion and the economic development of the community. The lack of security risks undermining the local economic fabric, making it essential for future administrations to commit to concrete action.
