The reconstruction of the Villa dei Colli hospital in Lonato, closed since 2020 for safety reasons, is currently stalled due to an anti-mafia interdiction against the company Passarelli Spa, which won the contract worth over 10 million euros. The precautionary measure, issued by the Salerno Prosecutor’s Office, prevents the Neapolitan company from contracting with public administration for one year, causing significant delays in the project.
Although the leading company, La Cascina Costruzioni from Rome, has expressed its intention to continue the work without relying on the subcontractor affected by the interdiction, the executive project is still awaiting approval. With estimated completion times requiring an additional 480 working days after final approval, the reopening of the hospital remains uncertain and distant.
