In Bussolengo, the program “Scuola Sicura Veneto”, promoted by the Regional Department of Civil Protection, is making a stop to raise awareness among students about safety and self-protection culture. The initiative, part of the project’s 2024 tour, includes a series of practical and training activities at the Marie Curie school in Via Dalla Chiesa 10.
On Monday, May 20, the day will begin with a simulation of evacuation following an earthquake. Students will be involved in all the typical phases of a seismic emergency: from activating the alarm to initiating evacuation procedures, to the recovery of simulated injured by rescuers. This practical exercise aims to provide students with the necessary skills to deal with real situations promptly and calmly.
After the evacuation, personnel from the regional Civil Protection, together with firefighters, local police forces, and healthcare professionals, will conduct a detailed analysis of the actions taken by students and teachers during the simulation. This moment will be crucial to identify any errors and improve future operational procedures.
The students will then have the opportunity to get a close look at the various emergency vehicles used during rescue operations. The functionalities of the vehicles used in critical situations will be presented, with particular attention given to the Suem 118 helicopter, which will perform a practical demonstration of landing and rescue.
At the end of the training morning, the students will be given an informative booklet containing the main rules to follow in case of emergency and local references for the Civil Protection. This material represents a useful tool to consolidate what was learned during the day.
Finally, at 11:30 am, a brief intervention by the present authorities is scheduled to greet the participating students.
