The sailors of the Canottieri Garda Salò achieved remarkable results at the French leg of the Eurocup 29er, held from April 17 to 20 in the waters of Carnon, Montpellier. The competition featured 110 teams from across Europe, and the athletes from Lake Garda, Giulia Bartolozzi and Pietro Rizzi, secured 1st place among the mixed teams and claimed the third spot on the overall podium. The crew composed of Emilia Salvatore and Pietro Zandri also shone, finishing in 2nd place in the mixed category while ranking 15th in the overall standings.
Coach Enrico Fonda praised the performances of his athletes, emphasizing the strength and maturity displayed by Giulia and Pietro on the international stage. He also pointed out that sailing requires immense concentration to minimize errors, a crucial aspect that affected the performance of the other pair during the final day. Fonda is optimistic about the future of his athletes, predicting that they will continue to excel in upcoming world and European events.
