An operation by the Carabinieri has led to the arrest of three members of an Italian-Russian gang involved in a pizzeria robbery in Bussolengo, which took place on January 21, 2024. On the night of the incident, two robbers—one armed with a pistol and the other with a knife—attempted to rob the “La Cascina” pizzeria. However, they were confronted by the owner and the pizzaiolo, resulting in a violent struggle that led to the immediate arrest of one of the bandits. The investigation continued for over a year and uncovered connections to other robberies in the area.
The Carabinieri executed the precautionary custody orders against the arrested individuals on the morning of February 19, following the confession of an accomplice after intense questioning. The suspects will face charges not only for the pizzeria robbery but also for other crimes, including illegal possession of weapons and the injuries inflicted on the pizzaiolo during the assault. The complexity of the investigation was heightened by the gang’s use of dedicated phones for communication and the need to analyze chats and videos to reconstruct their movements.
