Drug Trafficking in Castiglione delle Stiviere: Couple Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison. The court in Mantova has issued a ruling that has led to the conviction of a man and a woman, both residents of Castiglione delle Stiviere, to 12 years in prison and a fine of 60,000 euros for orchestrating a large-scale drug trafficking operation in the Cinque Continenti neighborhood. The operation, carried out by the Carabinieri, resulted in the arrest of the couple and five accomplices from Castiglione, Carpenedolo, and Peschiera, all with significant criminal backgrounds.
Investigations revealed that between October and November 2023, the couple managed the sale of over 3,600 doses of cocaine and hashish from their apartment, generating estimated profits of around 800 euros per day. During the trial, one of the accomplices was sentenced to 2 years and 6 months, while the other four received plea-bargained sentences ranging from two to three years and eight months.
