The centenary of the Nave Puglia marks the opening of the spring season at the Vittoriale degli Italiani, an event that will take place on Saturday, March 8. This significant anniversary celebrates not only the arrival of the ship, a symbol of Gabriele d’Annunzio’s legacy, but also the fiftieth anniversary of the Prioria’s opening to the public. The celebrations will commence with “Set Sail for the World,” an event aimed at renewing the cultural vocation of the Vittoriale, attracting visitors from all over the globe and affirming its status as a vibrant and dynamic place.
The inauguration will feature the presence of the Italian Navy and the students of the “Francesco Morosini” Naval Military School, who will read historical documents related to the donation of the Nave Puglia. Additionally, a series of musical performances and the opening of new photographic and historical exhibitions at the Onboard Museum: D’Annunzio Marinaio are planned, further enriching the visitors’ experience with a reflection on the significant connection between d’Annunzio and the sea. With events dedicated to the works of the Vate and his artistic vision, this season promises to offer a captivating journey through local history.
