A fire broke out within a chimney in Gavardo, on Via Polentine, necessitating the intervention of the Fire Brigade to extinguish the flames. This incident is part of a worrying trend of chimney-related fires that has affected the Garda area in recent months. Fortunately, the occupants of the affected residence did not suffer any physical injuries and were safely evacuated during the intervention operations, which were also coordinated by the Local Police of the Valle Sabbia Aggregation.
With the increase in winter fires, it is essential to pay attention to fire prevention. It is advisable to have fireplaces and stoves installed by qualified personnel and to adhere to local safety regulations. Additionally, cleaning and inspecting chimneys at least once a year can prevent dangerous blockages. Keeping ventilation openings clear and avoiding the use of unsuitable flammable materials are other key measures to ensure home safety.
