The Christmas season is approaching, along with a rich calendar of events that will enliven Lonato del Garda during Christmas 2024. Every corner of the city, from the historic center to the surrounding areas, will be involved in a series of initiatives designed for all citizens.
A Varied Offering for Everyone
The holiday program is described by the Councillor for Culture, Tourism, and Events, Mariangela Musci, as “particularly rich and diverse,” capable of providing unforgettable experiences for both adults and children. Among the scheduled activities, there will be creative workshops, captivating exhibitions, and musical concerts that will set the backdrop for this magical period. The celebrations will not be limited to just December but will continue until the Epiphany of the new year.
The Start of the Holidays: Activities and Concerts
The events will kick off in the first days of December with activities dedicated to both children and adults, including events related to the anticipation of Santa Lucia and the first choral concerts in various neighborhoods. Music will play a central role in the Christmas event calendar, ranging from classical music to gospel songs. The Christmas choir concerts promise to create a warm and spiritual atmosphere.
Christmas Flavors in Piazza Martiri della Libertà
From December 20 to 22, Piazza Martiri della Libertà will also host food trucks, which were already well-received during the summer. This will be an opportunity to taste the culinary specialties typical of the Christmas season. On Sunday, December 22, a special show titled Huma Show is scheduled, featuring magic and stilt walkers; during the event, attendees will have the chance to capture festive moments with commemorative photos.
Continuation of Events in the New Year
The events will not stop in January: on Wednesday, January 1, there will be the traditional gospel concert at the Basilica of S. Giovanni Battista, an eagerly awaited appointment for many each year. Equally significant will be the living nativity scenes and the pastorelle that will enrich both the main town and its districts.
Unmissable Christmas Concerts
The calendar includes important concerts such as the one by the Lonato del Garda Musical Corps scheduled for December 21 at 9:00 PM at the Teatro Italia, and the concert by the Coro Arcangelo da Lonato set for December 26 at 4:00 PM in the Basilica of S. Giovanni Battista.
Theatrical Shows and Epiphany Traditions
To conclude the Christmas season, the company “Il Sipario Onirico” will present three theatrical shows dedicated to children in January. Additionally, the Epiphany will be celebrated with the traditional walk of the Befana.
