The committee “Let’s Keep the Desenzano Hospital on Montecroce” has called for a citizen mobilization on Saturday, March 29, aiming to demand greater transparency and participation in decisions concerning the future of the Montecroce Hospital. The gathering is set for 9:30 AM in Piazza Garibaldi, from where a march will proceed to the hospital, concluding in Piazza Malvezzi around 11:45 AM. The committee emphasizes the need for a new feasibility study to assess seismic upgrades and safety, highlighting that over eight thousand signatures have been collected in support of their request.
The mobilization seeks to amplify the voices of citizens, as many decisions are made without consulting the local community. Committee members remind that public participation is a fundamental principle enshrined in the Italian Constitution and European regulations, urging local administrators to govern with the consent of the population rather than through imposition. If institutions fail to heed the citizens’ concerns, the latter will make their presence known in the streets to assert their rights.
