In Gardone Riviera, a significant ecological initiative took place aimed at cleaning the depths of Lake Garda, organized by the Municipality in collaboration with the Deep Explorers association. Approximately fifty divers from various provinces in Lombardy and Trentino participated in the event, focusing on the waters in front of the Fasano harbor. The goal was to remove discarded waste to protect the lake’s ecosystem. Angelo Modina, head of the association, thanked the participants as well as the support from the Coast Guard, sponsors, and the Municipality, represented by Mayor Adelio Zeni.
The following day, local elementary school students, along with teachers and volunteers, took part in cleaning the green areas of Gardone. The children had the opportunity to see the waste recovered from the depths, gaining awareness of the impact of human actions on the environment. The event also addressed the topic of marine protection, highlighting activist Paul Watson, who was arrested in Greenland for his commitment against whaling. This initiative combined concrete actions for environmental protection with raising awareness among the younger generations.
