The Euronics store located in the Il Leone di Lonato shopping center closed its doors today, Friday, July 5, leaving its 13 employees in a state of agitation. Nova Spa, the operator of the store, communicated the decision only two days ago, on July 3, during a meeting with the staff.
According to Filcams Cgil di Brescia, the closure was an “unexpected decision” for the workers, who had not been previously informed about the company’s economic difficulties or possible employment and salary solutions. The lack of communication caught everyone by surprise.
In a press release, Filcams Cgil highlighted that even the trade unions had not been notified of the imminent closure. Despite the presence of union representation, no advance notice was given regarding the proposed transfers to the Milan hinterland. These transfers were described as costly and practically impossible to carry out for many of the employees involved.
The union has denounced this situation as a maneuver aimed at resolving employment relationships in violation of collective dismissal regulations. In this regard, Filcams Cgil announced that all necessary initiatives will be taken to protect the rights of workers, including trade union actions and disputes.
