Peschiera has witnessed the closure of the historic restaurant “Aurora sul Mincio,” which has been in operation since 1967, with its activities set to conclude tomorrow, November 3rd. Giovanni Ferrarin, the owner, has announced that he will neither transfer nor sell the business, but will instead embark on a new expansion project for the “Aparthotel” that was inaugurated in 2018. This transformation will involve the creation of 11 new apartments and a breakfast room on the ground floor, effectively doubling the accommodation capacity of the establishment.
The decision to close was a difficult one for Ferrarin, weighed down by the sacrifices accumulated over more than three decades of work and health issues that necessitate a slowdown. The restaurant was originally established as a refreshment stop for local fishermen, thanks to the initiative of Ferrarin’s father, Sergio. Despite the changes, Ferrarin expresses gratitude for the family roots of the business and acknowledges the significance of its history within the community.
