Riva del Garda celebrated with great participation on Sunday, November 3rd, the 106th anniversary of the end of World War I and National Unity Day. The sunny day attracted a crowd that followed the parade and attended the mass at the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, officiated by parish priest Don Dario Silvello, in the presence of Mayor Cristina Santi and other authorities.
The ceremony began with the raising of the flag and the parade of the alpine band, which made its way through the main streets leading to the mass. Afterwards, the procession laid wreaths of laurel at the monuments dedicated to Cesare Battisti and the Fallen at Sea, concluding at the War Memorial in Piazza San Rocco. Mayor Santi emphasized the value of the armed forces and the Fallen, inviting everyone to reflect on our unity and identity. Subsequently, wreaths were laid at various memorials throughout the city, honoring the sacrifice of those who served for peace.
