On April 19th, the scientific conference “There is water and…WATER!” on thermal treatments will be held in Desenzano, promoted by the Scientific Committee of Terme di Sirmione. The event represents an opportunity to reflect on the role of thermal waters as a natural tool for the treatment of many diseases and the promotion of health.
The ancient model of thermal treatments is attracting increasing interest from international organizations, such as the WHO, which consider them an effective natural method for disease treatment and wellness promotion.
In Italy, the government has recently reiterated the importance of protecting the heritage of thermal waters. Today, thermal medicine can be considered a method of traditional scientific medicine and a way to ensure complementary treatment.
National experts will discuss topics such as the effectiveness of thermal treatments, the appropriateness of interventions, and the sustainability of intervention programs during the conference. Some of the most authoritative experts in the Italian medical-scientific field will be present.
The day’s program includes two sessions. The first session will address topics such as hydrogen sulfide in thermal waters, thermal treatments in otorhinolaryngology, and the microbiota present in thermal waters and muds.
The second session will discuss the training of medical personnel for thermal treatments, the integration of thermal treatments in the vision of health, and specific diseases such as inflammatory skin diseases and fibromyalgia.
The conference will conclude with remarks from Professor Enrico Agabiti Rosei, President of the Scientific Committee of Terme di Sirmione.
