BRESCIA, SEIZURE OF OVER 5,000 COUNTERFEIT FRAGRANCES FROM WELL-KNOWN BRANDS In a targeted operation against economic and financial crime, Brescia authorities uncovered and seized more than 5,000 counterfeit perfumes bearing fake labels from prestigious Italian and international brands. The intervention was prompted by local inspections that led to the identification of a non-EU seller attempting to resell the illicit products. During a search of his vehicle, keys were found that led to a warehouse in the municipality of Castenedolo (BS), where a significant quantity of counterfeit perfumes was hidden.
Upon entering the premises, agents discovered not only the perfumes but also barcodes intended to simulate their authenticity. The seller has been reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Brescia for trading products with false trademarks and receiving stolen goods. This operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement in the fight against counterfeiting, a phenomenon that threatens the legal market and fuels practices such as illegal labor and tax evasion.
