The Court of Cassation has upheld the life sentence for Giacomo Bozzoli, a 39-year-old from Brescia accused of murdering his uncle Mario, who disappeared in October 2015. The reasoning provided clarifies that the victim’s body was allegedly destroyed in the family foundry’s furnace in Marcheno. This reconstruction is supported by testimonies from workers and a judicial experiment that demonstrated the complete carbonization of a pig carcass introduced into the furnace, thereby confirming the prosecution’s thesis.
The judges emphasized that the objection raised by the public prosecutor’s consultant regarding the presence of bone remains post-incineration was addressed by the experiment. This reinforced the hypothesis that Mario Bozzoli’s body was indeed placed in the furnace, making the accusation plausible and definitively closing the case.
