The Sirmione Municipal Library has recorded a significant increase in cultural activities in 2024, despite a month-long closure in October for renovation work. With 23,087 loans made throughout the year, there is a notable growth of +2.5% compared to 2023 and an impressive +21% compared to 2022, reaffirming the strong connection between the community and library services. The library’s collection has expanded to over 39,000 volumes, while participation in events saw a remarkable 1,797 attendees, marking an increase of +34% compared to the previous year.
Roberto Salaorni, a municipal councilor with a mandate for Culture, emphasized the importance of the library as a cornerstone of local cultural life, promising future investments to further enhance its welcoming atmosphere and the opportunities it offers. Lisa Vettori, the Library Director, highlighted the value of staff training as a key factor in ensuring quality service. With 37.5 hours of weekly opening, the library stands out for its accessibility and variety of cultural offerings, including courses and reading groups, thereby contributing to the ongoing cultural growth of the city.
