Councilor Maurizio Ferrari provided significant updates during the Sirmione municipal council meeting, responding to the inquiry presented by councilors Campagnola and Ermogene regarding the timelines and costs associated with the construction of new school buildings.
Technical Issues and Impact on Construction
Ferrari explained that the construction of the new elementary school has been hindered by an unforeseen technical issue: the groundwater level was found to be much shallower than what was indicated by the geological surveys conducted prior to the commencement of work. This change has led to a series of complications that require detailed and thoughtful solutions.
Nevertheless, the Councilor reassured that the structural stability of the building is not in question. However, the presence of water at the base of the structure has created technical challenges that have resulted in a significant delay in the construction schedule.
Prospects for the School Year
Currently, technicians are working to find a long-term solution that ensures safety. In the meantime, the new school year will commence as scheduled in the spaces already used last year, where all necessary services for a suitable educational environment are assured.
