Cameo, a company based in Desenzano del Garda, has recently made a significant contribution in the fight against food waste by donating over 135,000 kg of products to the Food Bank throughout 2024. This initiative, which is part of a twenty-year collaboration with the non-profit organization, has enabled the distribution of approximately 271,000 equivalent meals to those in need. The positive impact of such donations extends beyond social benefits; it also contributes to environmental well-being, resulting in a savings of about 228,000 kg of CO2 and reducing water consumption and land use.
Federica Ferrari, Executive Manager of Corporate Communication at Cameo, expressed pride in the results achieved and emphasized the importance of corporate responsibility in pursuing ambitious goals for reducing food waste. In collaboration with Regusto, a platform dedicated to managing food surpluses, Cameo aims to optimize its production processes and raise consumer awareness on the issue of waste through educational initiatives, such as a waste-reduction guide.
