The Municipality of Desenzano has decided to install a new fixed speed camera on the bypass road between Rivoltella and San Martino, with the aim of reducing accidents in a section known for high vehicle speeds. The two cameras, calibrated at 90 km/h, will be positioned between kilometers 260+800 and 266+835 of the SS11, a state road under the responsibility of Anas. The Malinverno Administration emphasized that this measure is not aimed at increasing municipal revenue, but at improving road safety, as speeds of up to 180 km/h have been recorded in the past.
The installation has been partially authorized and it is expected that the speed cameras will be operational by the summer. Deputy Mayor Stefano Medioli and Safety Assessor Pietro Avanzi have reiterated that these devices will act as effective deterrents against violations, contributing to saving lives. The latest order signed by Commander Marco Matteo Mensi has initiated the necessary investigative procedure to obtain the final authorization for the installation of the systems.
