The Municipal Council of Desenzano has approved an important action plan aimed at reducing noise pollution in the city’s streets. This project involves an investment of 1 million euros for the application of sound-absorbing asphalt over approximately 6 kilometers, from Via Marconi to Via Agello, and aims to enhance the quality of life for residents. Currently, more than 3,600 inhabitants are exposed to noise levels exceeding the permitted limits, with peaks surpassing 10 decibels in critical areas such as Via Marconi, where over 40,000 vehicles pass daily.
The plan, which will extend until 2028, also includes the establishment of new “30 zones” to further reduce traffic and its associated noise. Although a single observation regarding Viale Andreis was rejected for technical reasons, the municipality has assured that the noise reduction measures will indirectly benefit this area through decreased speed in the adjacent stretch. With these initiatives, it is estimated that over 1,200 residents will finally be able to alleviate acoustic stress during both daytime and nighttime hours.
