Gardaland celebrated the final day of operation for the attraction “I Corsari” on August 18, 2024, before its temporary closure for a redesign. Despite the invitation for guests to come dressed as pirates, only a few visitors embraced the initiative. Among the nostalgic fans, many express concern about the future changes to this iconic attraction, which has been part of the park’s history since 1975.
The closure takes place in the heart of summer to allow for the completion of renovations in anticipation of Gardaland’s fiftieth season. While some fans fear a potential overhaul of the attraction, other visitors arrive from afar, unaware of the day’s significance, and are simply happy to experience it before the hiatus.
