The Lombardy Regional Government has recently approved a resolution aimed at promoting energy efficiency in schools owned by the Lombardy Provinces and the Metropolitan City of Milan. The main objective of this initiative is to increase the production of energy from renewable sources and improve the energy efficiency of school buildings.
The proposal falls under the PR FESR 2021-2027 funding guidelines, which allocate a total of 72 million euros for this project. These funds will be used to finance a series of interventions, including insulation of external surfaces, roof refurbishment, replacement of windows and installation of photovoltaic systems.
It is important to note that the contribution offered will be non-repayable and can cover up to 100% of eligible costs incurred for investments exceeding 200,000 euros. In other words, schools that intend to benefit from this program will need to submit project proposals that include measures aimed at energy efficiency and renewable energy generation.
