On January 29th, **Gargnano** witnessed the establishment of a new Slow Food Community dedicated to enhancing the historic **limonaie** (lemon houses) of the upper Garda Bresciano. During a meeting chaired by the President of Slow Food Italy, Barbara Nappini, the details of the project were presented, aiming to recover and promote the agricultural and environmental heritage of the area. This initiative is the result of collaboration between the Slow Food Condotta TerreAcque Bresciane and the agricultural cooperative Terre & Sapori.
The main objective of the Community is to foster **sustainable tourism**, which is mindful of traditional values and the connection between the landscape and high-quality local products. The landscape of upper Garda Bresciano, enriched by centuries of agriculture, hosts valuable crops such as citrus orchards and olive groves, with the limonaie serving as a distinctive symbol of the region since the 15th century. These historical structures not only enhance the territory but also tell a story of resilience against winter weather.
