The Lombardy Region has announced an extension until November 29, 2024, for the submission of applications related to the “2024 Refuge Grant,” which was opened on July 10 with an initial budget of 5 million euros. Councillor Massimo Sertori emphasized the importance of the grant in supporting alpine and hiking refuges, highlighting that these facilities represent a fundamental asset of the Lombardy mountain territory.
The grant funds maintenance, renovation, and technological innovation projects aimed at improving the safety and accessibility of the refuges. Applications can be submitted by managers or owners of structures listed in the Regional Register of Alpine and Hiking Refuges, including both public and private entities. The extension has been introduced to encourage greater participation from interested parties.
