The community of Calcinato is mourning the loss of Giorgio Gandola, a key figure in the Italian confectionery industry and co-founder of the Gandola Group, renowned for its chocolate and biscuit production. His passing at the age of 83 was announced by his sister Claudia and his nephews Biancamaria, Aldo, and Guido on December 2. The funeral home has been set up at the Domus Salutis in Brescia, and the funeral will take place tomorrow, Saturday, January 4, at 10 AM in the parish church of Ponte San Marco. The service will be followed by burial at the San Bartolomeo cemetery in Brescia.
Giorgio Gandola played a crucial role in the development of the company he founded with his father Aldo in 1964, helping it become a benchmark in the confectionery sector with an annual turnover that reached 50 million. Under his leadership, the company innovated the market with iconic products such as cocoa and hazelnut spreads and the famous bicolored Cremino. His legacy will live on not only in the products but also in the significant contributions made to Brescia’s entrepreneurship.
