A farmers’ protest blocked traffic along the southern bypass of Brescia this morning, Tuesday, January 28. About fifty tractors from the provinces of Brescia, Mantova, and Cremona lined up at the Buffalora area, causing significant disruptions to traffic on one of the main roads serving the Lower Garda region. The demonstration was organized by the Italian Farmers and Fishermen Coordination (Coapi) to draw attention to the crisis affecting the agricultural sector and to demand urgent measures to protect small and medium-sized enterprises.
After blocking traffic, the vehicles headed towards a sit-in at the rugby field parking lot in San Polo. The farmers presented clear demands in their manifesto, including the adoption of a Declaration of State of Socio-Economic Crisis and extraordinary measures such as a debt moratorium and protection against damages caused by unfair competition. These requests were addressed to Agriculture Minister Francesco Lollobrigida and the European Union, aiming to ensure a sustainable future for the agricultural and maritime sectors.
