Pain and sadness spread in Sirmione following the fatal accident that claimed the life of Ruben Wlodkowski, a 32-year-old young man. His partner, Chiara Capone, remembers him as a fantastic father and a person with a heart of gold, always caring and kind to others. Ruben lived to make the people around him happy.
The accident occurred on Sunday evening, around 8 p.m., on the road that connects Sirmione to Peschiera, near Punta Grò. Ruben was in a car with a 28-year-old friend, who was seriously injured and is currently in critical condition at the hospital in Brescia. The exact details of the accident are still under investigation: it appears that the Porsche Cayenne they were traveling in collided with a Volkswagen Caddy van that was exiting from a side road. The van was carrying a family of five, who sustained minor injuries.
The investigation is still ongoing to determine the exact causes of the accident. Currently, the only suspect is the driver of the van, a 47-year-old man who tested negative for alcohol. Further toxicological tests will be necessary to determine if there were any influences from drugs.
The traffic police are also analyzing the speed of the Porsche at the time of impact: according to some witnesses, the vehicle was traveling at a high speed. The driver tried to avoid the collision by steering, but without success. The Porsche went off the road and crashed into a tree. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for Ruben, while his friend is fighting for his life in intensive care.
Ruben leaves behind his partner, two children, mother, three sisters, and two brothers. He had started his own individual business in the windows and doors sector, which was doing well and had provided employment to one employee.
The news of his death has deeply affected the community of Peschiera, Chiara Capone’s hometown. Mayor Orietta Gaiulli expressed the community’s condolences for this tragic loss.
The dates for the funeral have not yet been set, pending the medical-legal investigations that will take place today. The town is enveloped in grief for the premature loss of Ruben Wlodkowski, a person loved and respected by all who knew him.
