The Feltrinelli Beach in Desenzano, managed by Margy Beach owned by Margherita Torelli for over a quarter of a century, will have another season. The concession has been renewed for another year, until the end of September. The news has been enthusiastically received on social media and in the city squares.
Feltrinelli Beach has always been a reference point for the residents and tourists of Desenzano, a place for meeting and relaxation along the lakeside. Despite the lack of intervention from the Municipality and the Basin Authority for the structural redevelopment of the area, Margy Beach constantly takes care of its regular maintenance.
Margherita Torelli says that the first pedal boats have already been brought in and the beach is being prepared for its opening, scheduled for the Easter weekend, provided that the weather conditions allow it. Every week, the beach and gravel are cleaned using a wheelbarrow and shovel.
Feltrinelli Beach was supposed to be eliminated due to the total redevelopment project of the lakeside, which includes a new cycle path replacing the beach. However, the project has been postponed again this year due to bureaucratic reasons.
The delay in the works for the second phase of the lakeside restyling has allowed the concession to be renewed for another year. The project involves transforming the beach into a cycle path and eliminating its use for bathing, while preserving only the pier, which will be restored and rebuilt in wood. The water supply cabin will undergo redevelopment without being demolished.
